W.A.D! Club Night Cycling

“Perseverance!” was the reply of many when asked the greatest value that they gleaned through the night cycling. Though none were new cyclist, cycling through the night was a NEW experience for many of the participants who joined us that day.
“I have not done it before and want to try something different.” Said one of the participants when asked why he would participate for this event. It is this adventurous spirit that W.A.D! Club celebrates. We look forward to more youths who would join us for an experience of stepping out of their comfort zone to do something different.

Bonding Workshop

It is the concerted effort towards a common goal and purpose that define a team. On 29 March, we had the opportunity to conduct a bonding workshop for a group of 16 students from Jurong West Secondary School Library Club. It was a fulfilling experience as we come to hear what they walked away with from the workshop.
“That to work in a team is better than alone and there are several things one must watch in a team.” Elizabeth
“If you work with your team you will be successful.” Wai Yong
“To be more involve in the activity and build teamwork.” Natasha

SPARKS

It was a memorable experience for our SPARKS children as they had the opportunity to interact with our Mr Police officers from Geylang NPC. They were friendly and able to engage the children in hands on manner. We had a chance to know some tips on crime prevention and know what are some common criminal activities happening around our neighbourhood. Most of all, they learnt to be citizens that play their part in this big world, to fight crime together and keep our neighbourhood safe! Applause to our little heroes!

One Day Educational Trip

The Chinatown trail not only brought our En’rich children back to time, they also went on a journey of interesting finds in the Chinatown area that’s rich in culture and heritage. Through the treasure hunt game, the children experienced and learnt more about the Chinese culture and the history of Chinatown.
Our last stop was the world of adventure awaits at the Children’s Garden! Children have a fun-filled time with interactive play delights, water play features and educational programmes in a lush natural setting of Gardens by the Bay. The most enjoyable part of the whole trip was at the water play station where the children had real great fun splashing about and frolicking about in the water.
It was definitely a great time of bonding for our volunteers and the children! Our volunteers felt they had received and learnt so much more from the kids than what they had blessed them with. Truly, it’s more blessed to give than to receive. Harvest Care Centre would like to express our appreciation to the group of passionate young working adults who had given their time, energy and money to bless these children.

The assured experience of an unforgettable music afternoon was truly provided. The spread was amazing with the talent showcased by our seniors with supporters from the Line dancing interest group at the back to bring the atmosphere to the next level. It was a great afternoon with the most heartwarming songs that kept the audience swinging their heads and clapping.
